Key responsibilities
The carer will live in the client's home and undertake the following duties:
- Manage and administer medicines
- Buy groceries and prepare meals
- Undertake household tasks including cleaning and laundry
- Provide transport to appointments
- Provide overnight reassurance and support
- Offer companionship and friendly engagement
- Assist with the care of two cats

Work environment
The client's home is located in a rural setting, two miles from the coast, in a smoke-free environment. A personal vehicle is essential due to the location.
Working pattern
50 – 70 hours per week, live-in with flexible time off to be arranged. Regular break cover and family support are in place.
Requirements
Essential:
- Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Fluent English
- Care Quality Commission (CQC) mandatory training
- Care Certificate or equivalent care qualification
Desirable qualities:
- Experience caring for clients with dementia
- Warm, kind, and emotionally supportive approach
- Strong reassurance and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
- Pet care experience
