Job overview

This is a part-time visiting care role for a 75-year-old client who requires support with household tasks and companionship. The client has arthritis and a mental health condition, and would benefit from a friendly, chatty carer who is good at listening and providing emotional support. This role offers approximately 2-6 hours per week, with shifts available from 2pm-6pm (4 hours).

Key responsibilities

The carer will visit the client's home and undertake the following:
  • Household tasks including cleaning and laundry
  • Providing friendly companionship and emotional support
  • Helping to organise and implement systems to support the client's ADHD management

About the client

Age: 75
Medical conditions: Arthritis, mental health condition, and ADHD
Additional information: The client has no family nearby and experiences walking difficulties and carpal tunnel syndrome. The client is a pet owner, though pet care is not part of this role.

Work environment

The client's home is smoke-free. The client owns pets, though these do not require care as part of this role.

Working pattern

2-6 hours per week, with shifts available 2pm-6pm (4-hour shifts).

Requirements

Essential:
  • Fluent spoken English
  • Care Quality Commission (CQC) mandatory training
