This is a permanent, part-time visiting care role supporting a 91-year-old client with arthritis and dementia. The carer will provide practical support with household tasks, meal preparation, and companionship, working 7-14 hours per week. The client is very sociable and enjoys conversation, and the carer's presence will also provide valuable respite for the client's family.
Key responsibilities
The carer will visit the client's home and undertake the following responsibilities:
- Buy groceries and prepare meals
- Household tasks including cleaning and laundry
- Provide friendly companionship and conversation
- Support the client with activities such as jigsaws and light tasks (e.g. watering flowers, putting out bins)
- Help the client feel in control and supported whilst assisting with daily living activities

Age: 91
Medical conditions: Arthritis and Dementia
The client is very sociable and enjoys talking. Please note that dementia-related behavioural changes can occasionally include verbal expressions that may be challenging. The carer should be emotionally resilient and understanding of these needs.
Work environment
The client's home is smoke-free and pet-free.
Working pattern
7-14 hours per week, typically starting with 1-hour visits that may extend as the relationship develops. Hours are flexible and can be arranged to suit both the carer and the client's needs.
Requirements
Essential qualifications:
- Care Quality Commission (CQC) mandatory training
- Care Certificate
- Fluent English (spoken)
