A private family is seeking a reliable and organised visiting carer to support an 80-year-old client with arthritis and a history of stroke. The role combines practical care support with companionship, requiring fluency in both English and Polish. The carer will work 6 hours per week on a regular basis, with additional respite care as needed.

Key responsibilities

The carer will visit the client's home and undertake the following duties:
  • Manage and administer medicines
  • Support with hygiene and toileting needs
  • Buy groceries and prepare meals
  • Carry out household tasks such as cleaning and laundry
  • Provide sitting service and companionship

About the client

Age: 80
Medical conditions: Arthritis and stroke
The client requires a Polish-speaking carer for both regular visiting care and sitting services. A calm, organised approach to medication management and routine care is essential.

Work environment

Smoke-free and pet-free home.

Requirements

Essential:
  • Fluent in English and Polish (spoken)
  • Must hold a valid driving licence and provide own transport
  • Care Certificate qualification
  • Experience in caring for post-stroke patients

Working pattern

6 hours per week on a regular basis:
  • Monday mornings and afternoons
  • Friday mornings and afternoons
  • Respite cover for the family (approximately 3 days per month)
